Sally in her kitchen, preparing to roll out oatcakes

Traditional Scottish Oatcakes, handmade by Sally in her Tasmanian farmhouse kitchen.

When living in Galloway, Scotland, Sally fell in love with the taste and history of the iconic savoury biscuit, known as an oatcake. She loved them so much, a friend’s grandmother gave her a family recipe. An ancient recipe, originating in the Orkney Islands, passed down over the generations from mother to daughter and now to Sally who hand makes them in the Meander Valley, Tasmania.
